Graphic Designer

Joue is currently seeking a Vancouver-based freelance graphic designer who is a creative thinker with originality, imaginative flair and a working knowledge of graphic design, web design, and/or advertising. Candidate must be confident in translating expressed needs and ideas into concepts and designs that effectively communicate the desired message. Projects cover a wide range including but not limited to digital textile design, branding and identity, signage, brochures and marketing campaigns.

Work will be available on a project basis. We work on a seasonal schedule centered around when our collections are released (Spring/Summer, Fall/Winter).


  • Graphic Design degree preferred

  • 3 years minimum experience in the industry


  • Proficient with Macintosh OSX and/or Windows operating systems

  • Software: Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop and Lightroom

  • Languages: Web designers should be fluent in HTML, JavaScript, XHTML, CSS, Web Standards approach to development and integration with PHP, ASP, AJAX, JavaScript (preferred)

  • Good working knowledge of pre-press and printing processes, digitization of artwork

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Strong typing skills

  • Time management

  • Ability to work on a project-to-project basis

  • Multi-task & manage tight deadlines

Office Assistant Internship                  

Joue is currently seeking a qualified candidate in Vancouver for an Office Assistant Intern for a 6-month Spring/Summer internship with the possibility of being considered for the Fall/Winter internship.

The internship at Joue provides opportunities for learning about home decor and textile design while keeping current with the interior design industry.

Interns play a vital role in the organization and execution of Joue’s season design collections as well as ensuring operations run smoothly in the office. Interns have the chance to attend events in Vancouver related to home decor and interior design. Additionally, interns are exposed to the entire design and production process for all of Joue’s textile designs.

While interns are expected to perform daily administrative tasks, there are opportunities to work on long term projects, depending on evolving needs. Interns at Joue have the opportunity to develop their written and oral communication skills and their knowledge of general office procedures.

Internship Summary:

The Office Assistant Intern is under the direction of the co-Founders. The Office Assistant Intern will provide administrative and office support, including creating and maintaining customer databases, sourcing, proofreading and editing copy, social media, event planning projects, website updates, and other projects as assigned.

This position requires multi-tasking skills and the ability to work independently and under pressure. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are required. Attention to detail is vital. Demonstrated agility to shift direction in response to changing work situations is critical. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel is required, Mac or Windows environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year administrative and office experience supporting management in a fast-paced office environment. College or university students are encouraged to apply!
